Effect Paint - Metallic Brush Effect

1. Cover/tape off areas not to be painted with a drop cloth and masking tape.
2. Thoroughly stir the primer (PRIMER) (if necessary tint with WB colour paste), apply with a nap roller and allow to dry.
3. Mix EFFECT PAINT with the supplied metallic pigment and roll onto the primer with a foam roller.
4. When painting ceilings and walls we recommend painting the ceiling areas first and then the walls.
5. Remove masking tape before full drying.

Notes: Processing temperature: object and ambient temperature min. 8°C. Do not apply to heated surfaces or in direct sunlight. At lower temperatures drying disturbances may occur. To achieve a lower viscosity, thin the paint with up to 5% water. Clean tools with water immediately after use.EU limit value: (Cat. A/d): 100g/l (2010), max. 100g/l VOC

Priming with PRIMER

1. We recommend a processing temperature of around 20°C.
2. The floor should be dust-free, clean and even. Fill holes, irregularities and falls beforehand with levelling compound (self-levelling compound).
3. Always start with our PRIMER (primer).
4. Thoroughly stir the primer (PRIMER) and tint with WB pigment in anthracite grey or light grey.
5. Pour the PRIMER into a paint tray after mixing.
6. Roll the material onto the desired surface with a paint roller.
7. Allow the primer to dry (approx. 8-12 hours).

Main coating with EFFECT PAINT

1. Use our EFFECT PAINT for a metallic brush effect.
2. Mix the EFFECT PAINT with the supplied metallic pigment PLATINUM SILVER. We recommend a pigment proportion of approx. 1,5%, e.g. 15g metallic pigment PLATINUM SILVER per 1kg EFFECT PAINT.
3. Then mix the EFFECT PAINT with the supplied metallic pigment PEARL WHITE (approx. 1,5% pigment proportion, e.g. 15g metallic pigment PEARL WHITE per 1kg EFFECT PAINT) and apply the material wet on wet over the first coat in PLATINUM SILVER.
4. Apply the material to the primed surface.
5. The paint is dust dry after approx. 5 hours.

Sealing with PU

1. Coat the surface with the PU resin.
2. To do this, mix the PU resin (A) with the corresponding PU hardener (B) in the specified mixing ratio. PU-gloss: 10:2 by weight (e.g. 1kg A + 0,2kg B); PU-matt: 10:1 by weight (e.g. 1kg A + 0,1kg B). Optionally you can add up to 20% water.
3. Pour the mixture into a paint tray and mix again. This ensures that resin (A) and hardener (B) are fully combined.
4. We recommend mixing smaller amounts per application of approx. 1kg, as the material is very economical and cures quickly (pot life: 60 Min. at 1kg).
5. Apply the material thinly with a foam roller in a cross pattern. For an even finish use our stripping grid to remove excess material. We recommend a layer thickness of max. 150µm.
6. The material is walkable after approx. 20-24 hours and chemically fully cured after approx. 7 days.

Pro tip: At high ambient temperatures or for large mixing quantities we recommend adding water to the PU resin to avoid an orange-peel texture.

Recommended layer thicknesses for coating floors and other surfaces

• Total coating (primer + main coating + sealing): approx. 330-380g/m²
• Primer: approx. 120-150g/m²
• Main coat: approx. 110-130g/m²
• Sealing: approx. 100g/m²
