Instructions for use
- Always start with an epoxy resin primer to avoid high material loss and bubble formation (layer thickness: 0,5mm). For this purpose use one part of the same clear epoxy resin (for priming floors and other coloured substrates we recommend our water-based EPOXY Primer system).
- Mix the contents of the ECO resin (A) with the contents of the ECO hardener (B) in the mixing ratio 2:1 (e.g. 2kg resin: 1kg hardener).
- Run the stirring stick along the edge and bottom of the mixing container, as material settles there. Ideally transfer the mixture to a clean container and mix again. This ensures that resin (A) and hardener (B) are fully mixed.
- Pour the material immediately onto the surface to be coated after mixing, as the product can heat up in the mixing container depending on the amount mixed.
- Apply the epoxy resin primer with a foam roller or brush to the desired surface.
- Allow the primer to cure for about 20 hours.
- Proceed with the main coating in the same way. For casting we recommend a maximum pour height of 1cm per pour. Pouring beyond 1cm can cause boiling, yellowing, cracking and deformation of the material. For greater layer thicknesses you can pour the next 1cm layer after about 6 hours.
- If you select a colour on this product page, you will receive dyes or colour pigments in addition to the resin and hardener.
- To colour the main coating, mix the supplied dyes or colour pigments with the resin (A) or with the resin-hardener mixture. Adjust the colour intensity individually by adding more or fewer colour pigments.
- The epoxy resin is touchable/walkable after 20 hours and chemically fully cured after about 7 days.
- More information about our ECO System can be found in the information table under the info button "Mehr erfahren" on this product page.
Info: Epoxy resin is sensitive to any form of moisture during the curing period (risk: formation of carbamates, i.e. white spots in the top layer). For this reason we recommend not exposing the epoxy resin to water until it has fully chemically cured (at least 7 days). For thin layers, cold temperatures (ambient, substrate and resin temperature below 20°C) and increased humidity, the time until the epoxy resin is fully cured may be extended.
Consumption amounts
Calculate the required amount using our epoxy resin quantity calculator on this product page.
Recommended layer thicknesses when coating floors and other surfaces
- Total coating (primer + main coating) with ECO System: approx. 1,65-2,2kg/m² at layer thicknesses of 1,5-2mm
- Primer: approx. 0,22-0,55kg/m² at a layer thickness of 0,2-0,5mm
- Main layer: approx. 1,1-1,65kg/m² at layer thicknesses of 1,1-1,5mm
Recommended colour amount for 1kg resin+hardener:
- Colour pigments (Metallic, Neon and Glow in the dark): approx. 1,5% (15g),
- Transparent drop-in dyes (except white, black and grey): 60 drops (1,8g),
- Transparent white, black and grey drop-in dyes: 20 drops dye (0,6g),
- Semi-transparent colours (except white): 40 drops (1,2g) coloured dye and 20 drops (0,6g) white dye,
- Semi-transparent white: 60 drops white dye (1,8g),
